Meet Our Staff
Maggie Michaud, RN, Executive Director Raised in Aroostook County, I learned early the value of hard work. The experiences of working in the potato harvest and in my family’s IGA store helped groom me for the person I am today. After high school, became a Registered Nurse by attending EMMC School of Nursing in Bangor. My 34 years of diverse work settings has given me a vast knowledge of health care quality, senior services and leadership experience. In addition to my nursing experience, I have certifications in Case Management and Legal Nurse Consulting and hold an Administrator’s License in Assisted Living/Residential Care. Every day I have the privilege of working with a wonderful group of residents and employees. I am very proud to be part of the Dirigo Pines community. |

Steve Bowler, Marketing Director
I enjoy working with the residents trying to meet or exceed their expectation. I believe in being honest and fair with all of their business matters and lending a helping hand with personal matters. The response back from residents tells me that they appreciate what I do for them and that, in return, gives me deep satisfaction. After 23 years in healthcare, I'm still learning new things and meeting more interesting people. Dirigo Pines is a thriving community of wonderful staff and residents. It's a pleasure to work here. |

Lewis Stubbs, Executive Chef
I began my culinary career soon after I graduated from Bangor High School. For twelve years, I was employed as the executive chef at the Greenhouse Restaurant in Bangor creating and preparing menus. From there it was Chez Michele in Lincolnville Beach for a summer and then to The Lucerne Inn in Lucerne-In-Maine. As head chef I was not only responsible for the ala carte menus and meal preparation, but I was also in charge of a very busy banquet business. I am very happy to be part of Dirigo Pines since it began in 2003 and look forward to sharing my culinary skills with a team of exceptionally talented people for years to come. |

Christine A. Laing, Business Manager
Born and raised outside of Boston, my parents chose Mid-coast Maine as our vacation destination before permanently relocating the family to Tenants Harbor in 1970. Following my affiliation with several accounting firms, I accepted a position with a Bangor developer who was involved with the restoration of several historical buildings located downtown. In February 1985, I joined Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems. As Business Manager for Dirigo Pines, I not only have the privilege and pleasure of working closely with staff and residents, but it is also gratifying to be part of a team that is committed to making Dirigo Pines the finest retirement community in Maine. |

Juanita Taylor - Director of Activities and Volunteer Services
Growing up in Maine, I know the importance of family and family ties. My grandparents always had something to share and I always had something to learn from them. After many years of working in manufacturing in Guilford, I made a career switch to healthcare and outreach in 2004. I recently relocated to Bangor from Dexter. It was important to me to find new employment with an organization that had a real mission to care for and serve seniors who are such valuable members of society and who deserved to be cherished. I am delighted to have found a new career path at Dirigo Pines where every staff member is dedicated to the people we serve. I am honored to be a part of the team where everyone is valued and looking forward to exciting and diverse programming and events.

Peter King, Facilities Service Director Peter King knows the local area well having been born in Old Town, and now living in Milford, Maine. For almost 30 years Peter was employed at a local paper production facility; twenty years as a Technician Specialist. He was using hi-tech equipment to find flaws in the process and repair equipment before it became a problem. The training, techniques, and problem solving skills he gained will help keep Dirigo Pines Inn be a top notch facility and a very special place to live. In Peter’s words, “the first thing I noticed about Dirigo Pines was the how friendly and dedicated the staff are towards making their residents happy and satisfied. I’m very proud to be Facilities Service Director of Dirigo Pines Inn, and being part of another great team.”

Jen Nason , Human Resource Manager I was born and raised in Bangor, Maine and graduated from the University of Maine in Orono with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. I have over 16 years of management experience, nine of those years in Human Resource Management. After staying home with my young children for a period of time, I was looking to resume my career in an organization where I could feel both challenge and fulfillment in my work. I remember very clearly the first day I walked into the lobby at Dirigo Pines Inn. The beauty of the facility was breathtaking. I thought it would be wonderful to work in such an elegant setting. However, it was the people I met through my tour that really influenced my decision to work here. The people at Dirigo Pines Inn truly care about the residents they serve and find enjoyment and fulfillment in their jobs. I am proud to be a member of such a wonderful team of caring professionals.
